A day on the boat is all about relaxation, fun, and making memories. But to make that happen, be sure you have all the essentials for a smooth day on the water. Here’s the good news: members of Inland Boat Club don’t have to worry about maintenance or ownership hassles, but having all the right stuff can make your day unforgettable. Here are a few boat day essentials to help make your day on the water stress-free:
1. Safety First
Our boats are fully-stocked with all the gear you need for an adventurous day on the water. Each boat has over $4,000 of equipment, including wakeboards, surfboards, and essential safety equipment. So while your boat club membership includes most of the gear you’ll need, be sure to bring neoprene life jackets to fit everyone in your party and are easily accessible. Sunscreen, hats, and polarized sunglasses will protect you from the sun’s reflection off the water, while a waterproof first-aid kit keeps you ready for minor scrapes or bumps that are bound to happen from time to time.
2. Comfort and Convenience
Bring towels, blankets, and beach chairs for those times when you take a break on the shore. A dry bag is perfect for keeping phones, wallets, and other essentials safe from inevitable splashes. Fill up a cooler with your favorite drinks, snacks, and waterside meal. Be sure to bring water bottles to stay hydrated.
3. Music and Entertainment
The perfect playlist can make your boat day even more magical. Connect to the boat’s system or bring your own waterproof Bluetooth speaker to jam to your favorite songs all throughout the day. Card games, frisbees, or sand toys for the kids can also keep everyone entertained when you’re taking a break on the shore.
4. Plan for the Unexpected
Pack a light jacket or windbreaker just in case the weather changes quickly. Extra snacks and drinks are always a good idea, and having a few ziplock bags can help protect valuables from water or sand.
5. Leave No Trace
One of the perks of boat club life is that you don’t have to deal with the hassles of boat ownership, but leaving the boat tidy for the next member is appreciated. Bring a small trash bag for wrappers, bottles, or other items to keep the boat spotless.
A little preparation goes a long way for a successful boat day, so pack smart, plan ahead, and soak in every moment on the water.
